I work with men, women, and teens who struggle with relationships, life transitions, substance abuse, abuse, trauma, and other issues. Many of my clients initially seek assistance connecting with others or addressing unsatisfying relationships. Others need help with feelings of sadness and anger, or a sense that they're "stuck." Working with these clients to move from a place of pain to a place of satisfaction and fulfillment is my passion.

My therapy practice is built on the belief that behaviors that worked in one context can harm us in another. Examining these patterns can help you gain insights about your current or past experiences, allowing you to explain and uncover beliefs, fears, and behaviors that affect your daily life. Changing these beliefs and behaviors enables you to lead a more authentic life, while meeting your social, professional, and relationship goals.

As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, I believe that we all move naturally toward maturation and health. Neglect, abuse, and trauma, however, can disrupt this drive. I help my clients confront the obstacles that keep them from enriching, fulfilling lives. This strength-based approach helps women and men build empowerment, while developing and refining strong coping skills. Some people turn to substance abuse to cope with the pain of trauma. Helping these clients move beyond the desire to numb hopeless feelings and offering them the chance to recover instead means treating addiction alongside co-occurring issues, such as trauma, physical or sexual abuse, depression, or PTSD.

I draw upon attachment and psychodynamic theories, while relying on cognitive-behavioral theories to offer my clients more confidence and better coping strategies for acute anxiety and depressive symptoms. I am also trained in CBT and studied under the guidance of Drs. Judith and Aaron Beck at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I embrace a nonjudgmental, empathetic approach to therapy, so my clients can identify and explore self-defeating patterns and make lasting changes.

I understand coming to therapy can be a difficult experience. But I know it can be deeply rewarding.
