One of my focus points as a therapist is to provide a quiet space for you to process your feelings and thoughts, so that you may recapture your ability to relax in this often times chaotic and challenging existence. I place emphasis on the power of physical activity and exercise in the way it aids in optimal emotional wellness. Exercise has several key mental health benefits including heightened ability to focus, increased confidence, increased happiness, and improved problem solving skills. I believe physical activity in most, if not all, cases is a safer and more reliable alternative to psychotropic medications.

More Info About My Practice

My personality is laid back and down to earth, and at the same time organized and detail oriented. While I am well versed in ethical matters relevant to my field, and I place particular value on personal morals, I try not to let fear of professional liability get in the way of my work. I find life can be highly subjective and I value being able to think outside the box. I do not place limitations on the types of problems I am willing to help individuals with, as long as it falls within my knowledge and I see there is a client-therapist connection that will facilitate change for my client.

My View on the Nature of 'Disorders'

For starters, I don't find the term "disorder" very helpful because it implies there is something broken or damaged in a person, and it also implies a sense of being stuck with a particular set of symptoms for life. I find that most psychological symptoms are a natural response to a combination of genetic and environmental factors in a person's life. I view one's emotional state as a flowing, dynamic process in that person's existential journey. Unpleasant emotions and perceived mistakes provide an opportunity to learn and grow.
