I see therapy as a very special and circular relationship. It's not one sided-where I have all of the "answers". I think that's actually where therapists go wrong. But rather, I incorporate the knowledge and tools that I have to help guide you. There is a "knowing" that exists within you already. Therapy is the process of cracking that open. For us to explore old belief systems that stem from parental messaging, life experiences, and societal pressures. We will look into thought pattens that you may be holding as truth. Or self defeating talk, that may be critical, and not kind or compassionate. Or fears that keep you from taking a leap and quitting that job you dislike, starting that new business, or even walking up to someone you are attracted to at a BBQ, etc.

As humans, we are complex and layered, which is part of the beauty and uniqueness of being alive. But, it can be difficult to navigate this thing called "life". We have had imperfect parents, who maybe treated us in a way that left us scarred or feeling "damaged". We may have deep anger, resentments, and not know how to forgive. We compare ourselves to others. We may not feel rich enough, pretty enough, cool enough, or just all together good enough. We come with a "backpack" filled to therapy, with past wounds, and I help you walk through uncharted territory. It can be tough, but ultimately liberating. To uncover greater awareness of yourself, feel more empowered, alive, and filled with joy.

I'm not going to "fix" you, because you are not "broken". Rather, I'm going to offer you a safe space, which is teeming with compassion (my heart) and non-judgment (my mind). I will offer practical tools in mindfulness, potentially have you explore your feelings through art, or have a structured experience with Cognitive Behavioral therapy, so that those negative thought patterns can change. You are part of this journey in therapy, just as much as I am. I hope to create an experience with openness, flexibility, so that you don't walk away feeling like "I tell you what to do". Rather, you gain insight into new ways of living in this world and in your relationships.
