My philosophy of psychotherapy and my work as a counselor is based on a positive strengths-oriented approach and I have worked with clients since 1995. I have a small practice and focus on helping adults and older youth who struggle with anxiety, depression, self-esteem and interpersonal issues. Most of my experience and my passion is working with those who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender or queer and those who do not identify with a particular label but seek to live more authentically and become more comfortable with who they are. I work collaboratively with you to establish a solid, trusting relationship and to identify, understand and overcome the internal and external barriers that are getting in the way of living the life you want to be living.

More Info About My Practice

My fee is $150 per hour session. I do not file insurance claims and am not on insurance panels but my services are typically covered out of network by most PPO's. I do provide monthly statements for those who want to file with their insurance companies. I do also accept credit and debit cards, personal checks and cash.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

Making a decision to start therapy can be life-changing and scary. I remember what it was like for me the first time I walked into a therapist's office. At first it was difficult to talk with a complete stranger about my life. I encourage you to do a lot of research and interview as many therapists as you can by phone or in person if that is possible. It is really important that you find someone that you feel you can trust and who has experience in the areas in which you are seeking help. Trust your gut and if you don't feel a connection - even if it is someone who has been recommended - keep looking!
