Seeking therapy is a courageous act, we need to feel seen and accepted by an empathic caring other, one who can help us to access internal and external resources that facilitate our healing and growth. My rocky journey of recovery from trauma taught me that talk therapy alone was not enough, no matter how logical and insightful, change was minimal if at all, and I often left sessions feeling worse than when I arrived. This lead me to search deeper for answers, and to my passion for sharing what I've learned along the way so that others might travel a smoother path.

Our difficult thoughts and emotions are evident in our bodies, such as a racing heart, a clenched jaw, or a constricted throat. The nervous system, the heart, and the gut all inform the brain, in fact the heart sends more information to the brain than the brain to the heart. When we only focus on changing thoughts we neglect the way the body organizes and healthy integration is unlikely to take place. This is why I work somatically, integrating mind and the body, which ultimately are one.

Each session will reflect your unique needs, we'll unpack your goals, values, and vision of your future, along with how you embody where you are now. I'll guide you down a smoother path along your own journey toward deepened awareness, healing, growth, and transformation.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

Reaching out to a therapist takes courage, this is especially true for survivors of sexual assault, abuse, rape, and incest. Somatic work, which I wrote about above in 'My Approach to Helping', is significant for the healing needed to fully recover from these violations. You are the expert on you, so you will help determine the pace we go at, and I will help you to feel safe. It is never too early or too late to heal.

Artist, Performers, and Highly Creative Individuals
You are often but not always sensitive and/or introverts, issues of worry, anxiety, social anxiety, and depression are some frequent concerns. My extensive background in Fine Art helps bring an understanding to the many challenges creative individuals face. I will help you to quiet your inner critic, confront your fears, and to more fully process and expansively embody experience.
