I am an active and genuine listener who helps people in treatment identify the underlying reasons for their presenting issues. I treat couples and families, as well as adults and children on an individual basis. Typical issues addressed in therapy include life transitions, anxiety, stress, self-esteem, mood, depression, relationships, and family dynamics. I specialize in helping people who are experiencing autistic issues, college or graduate school transitions, or the death of a loved one.
I believe that sufficient time in a therapeutic relationship is necessary in order for the therapist and the person in treatment to better understand any presenting issues and implement effective strategies for improving quality of life. I offer an integrative approach to treatment, with techniques taken from client-centered, relational-based, psychodynamic, attachment, and cognitive-behavioral therapies.
My work has exposed me to a variety of therapeutic environments, including college counseling centers, outpatient, inpatient, therapeutic, and alternative school settings.
