|Professions: Marriage & Family Therapist, Psychotherapist, Sex Therapist|
I'm a licensed professional.
Marriage and Family Therapy
I don't currently accept insurance, but I can provide documentation if clients wish to submit to an insurance company for "out of network" benefit coverage
Fees: Individual session: $85
Couple session: $100
My first session with a couple or a family lasts 90 min. and has a fee of $140.
All other sessions are 50 min. long. If a session happens to last a few minutes longer I do not charge extra for that.
As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist I believe we are best understood in the context of our relationships with others rather than in isolation. In my work with individuals and couples we focus on developing skills that will help them form solid and fulfilling relationships ( with others as well as their self). When a person or a couple comes to me with a problem or a concern we try to understand how every aspect of their life contributes to it and gain insight about their potential contribution and make changes accordingly. Although I do have a special interest in working with couples I also enjoy working with individuals in helping them address issues of self esteem, depressed mood and anxiety.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I have specialized training in working with couples. Maybe you feel stuck in your interactions with your partner and no matter how hard you try things always seem to result in conflict. Maybe you feel distant in your relationship with your significant other and you want to get closer but you are scared to take a risk and take the first step. In our work together I will help you find ways to tolerate the anxiety and discomfort that confrontation and the need to conform creates. We will talk about how to reduce unproductive conflict and find more effective ways to communicate and related to one another.
Part of my work with couples is to inquire about any sexual health issues or concerns that they might have. Desire discrepancy, sexual difficulties or dysfunctions and concerns around sexuality are best to be address in order for a couple to improve their sexual and emotional intimacy and connection.
I also work well with individuals that would like to address issues of sexual orientation and/or gender identity.
My Role as a Therapist
Being in therapy can be challenging but also exciting and rewarding. It will push you to grow personally and it will stretch your limits, your strengths and your ability to tolerate uncertainty and discomfort. My role as your therapist is to help you be better able to tolerate anxiety and be more responsive to tough situations rather than emotionally reactive. I am intuitive and warm but also direct and I can take on a leading role in order to maintain our therapeutic focus.
