Emotional hurt can be very painful; sometimes even more so than physical pain. And yet, we all too often conceal it in our effort to feel accepted and look competent. While coming to therapy is not easy, it allows you to no longer be alone with your pain. You are truly invited to come as you are. Processing the hurt enables growth and understanding. It frees you to talk about your burden, handle your distress with compassion and humor, and think more clearly about ways of pragmatically dealing with your struggle.

I think good therapy calls for a sensitive ear, a caring attitude, an open mind, being genuine, and having your best interests at heart. In providing a warm, non-judgmental environment while staying direct, practical and honest, I will try to carefully listen to your struggle, clarify aspects of it which you may not be aware of and offer my own view. Through our joint effort, I hope you uncover your full potential, grow in your self-acceptance, connect better with others and steer your life according to your values. In working with couples, my goal is to help distressed partners untangle their cycles of miscommunications and improve their level of comfort so that they feel safe again to open up to one another and lean on each other for strength and support.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over ten years of experience. I treat adult individuals, couples and groups. My special interests include: relationship issues, depression, anxiety, trauma, parental dilemmas, career concerns, cultural/ immigration challenges, dealing with addiction to alcohol and substances, and coping with grief and loss. I believe that therapy should be adjusted to each person unique personality. To do so, I draw from all the different types of therapies I have extensively studied and trained in including: psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and emotion focused therapy for couples. At this time I have evening and weekend availability.

I believe that the decision to turn to a professional with whom you can build a safe and strong connection is very important. I, therefore, invite you to visit my website or email me to schedule a free consultation phone call. I look forward to meeting you, Edia.
