With 30 years of clinical work in the private practice of Jungian psychoanalysis/pastoral psychotherapy, I am aware that persons seek treatment for a variety of reasons. They range from the need to cope with a temporary life crisis requiring relatively brief psychotherapeutic support, to the experience of deeply rooted inner conflicts and profound psychic wounds requiring long-term psychoanalytic exploration, as well as healing to restore to the patient a greater sense of self-coherence and self-integration and a greater capacity to live his/her life beyond constant psychic pain and suffering, loneliness, and chronic disappointment and failure in life. Whether the need for resolution is brief or sustained, I seek to create the kind of relationship with the patient which is adapted to his/her unique and individual concerns and to go wherever the patient needs to go to find healing with courage, hope, compassion and a deep sense of the mystery of the human being struggling for self-transformation, self-transcendence, and a deeper sense of being.
