As a registered nurse with over 25 years of psychiatric experience, a licensed counselor, and a professionally-trained coach, I see the potential in each and every client. I work hard to assist each client to be their very highest selves. Taking a non-judgmental approach, I will teach you how to manage life effectively, stay present in day-to-day living, build your self-worth, and approach and manage rather than run from your problems and yourself.
I enjoy working with adults who are struggling with problem behaviors (isolation, drugs or alcohol, excessive care-taking of others, eating problems, or struggles with communication). I also enjoy working with children, teens, and young adults. At Epiphany! Counseling & Wellness Center, we help you heal mind, body, and spirit. We offer group, individual, couples, and family counseling, and health, life, and business coaching. We also offer training and development for organizations.

More Info About My Practice
I accept most Highmark policies, and we have affordable self-pay options. Some insurance companies also have out-of-network policies that may reimburse you partially for your treatment.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I have nearly 30 years in the field of psychiatry. I have worked in inpatient, intensive outpatient, and outpatient settings. I have assisted school-age children, teens, women, men, couples, and families. During this time, I have worked to treat people with many different disorders, using many different approaches. I find value in them all. While I have a strong sense of what might help a client, I don't have a cookie-cutter approach. I treat each person as an individual, and work collaboratively with them to develop treatment that fits and works.
My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is meant to empower you, not make you dependent and needy. As a psychotherapist, I see myself as an encourager-- a guide, leader, and a mentor of sorts. I am also a teacher-- bringing what I've learned in grad school, during my clinical experience, and in my own life to you to use as you see fit. While you may rely on me at times for feedback, skills training, insight, and even feeling good, the idea is for you to begin to do this more from an internal place as time goes on. I am here to support you in that growth. I tend to value working with people over a longer period of time, rather than for just several weeks, as life tends to continue to bring us interesting challenges and opportunities, and of course, most (all) of us can benefit from support during these times.
