A.P.J. Abdul Salam said, When we tackle obstacles, we find hidden reserves of courage and resilience we did not know we had. And it is only when we are faced with failure do we realize that these resources were always there within us. We only need to find them and move on with our lives.
As your therapist, my passion is in helping you (re)discover the strengths and abilities that are already within you to sort through and overcome the issues that bring you to therapy. Together we can explore some of the feelings and thinking patterns that have become obstacles along the way. I believe wholeheartedly in a collaborative approach, one that assumes you know what is working for you in your life and what is not.
Together, my hope is that we will explore those strengths and resources that you bring to therapy so that you can get back onto a more fulfilling life path, one filled with more happiness, more satisfying relationships, and greater understanding about yourself and others in your world.

More Info About My Practice
Deciding to see a therapist and making that first contact can be a big step. It's important to me that you feel comfortable and feel like we are a good fit for each other. I would like to provide you with a no-cost, 15 minute initial phone consult so that I may learn a little more about why you are seeking therapy at this time, to share with you my therapy approach, and to answer any questions or concerns you might have for me.
My Role as a Therapist
My role as your therapist is to strike a balance in being authentic, curious, humorous, supportive, educative, empathic, reflective, and collaborative. I assume that you are the expert in your own life, and as such, you may already have an idea about the destination for our work together.
Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance
A key consideration in both choosing and staying with a therapist is whether you feel heard and understood, whether your therapist has empathy and compassion for you, and whether you and your therapist are on the same page about what you want out of therapy. It is vitally important to me that you feel we are aligned in these ways, from day one and throughout your course of therapy.
