You don't have to struggle by yourself. When your life is challenging, support and assistance are available. Whether this is a problem you recently encountered, or one that has been troubling you for a long time, you don't need to do it alone.

My life has not been perfect either, and I bring to therapy the knowledge I have gained from my own struggles. As a result, I will accept you for who you are and where you are at, without ever judging your circumstances.

I do this work because it is meaningful and rewarding. Therapy can be transformative. I have seen individuals and couples begin to think positively about themselves and/or their relationship and make changes that lead to more fulfilling lives. This is your journey, but it is my privilege to accompany you.

I approach therapy as a collaborative effort. During sessions we will work to resolve the issues you feel are important. I will support and encourage you throughout the process and will respect the choices you make. In a caring and supportive environment you may find that change may not be as difficult as you first thought.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

In addition to being a professional counselor I am also a Certified Public Accountant. As a result, I work with individuals and couples to address persistent financial problems and the resulting challenges. If money issues are causing problems, financial therapy may help.

I worked as a volunteer counselor at the Minneapolis Sexual Violence Center for three years. This experience provided me with an understanding of the challenges faced by individuals whose lives have been affected by this issue, whether you are the survivor, parent or a concerned individual.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

The relationship you develop with your counselor is an important factor in determining whether or not you have a successful therapeutic experience. It is essential that you enter into this relationship with someone you feel is genuine, accepting, trustworthy, dependable and non-judgmental. I offer a free half hour consultation over the phone if you have any concern as to whether or not we would be a good fit. I encourage you to take advantage of this if you have any concerns.
