How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

I love meeting and getting to know people and seeing them work through issues and make progress. I enjoy connecting with people and love that through our work together I also learn and grow as a therapist and as a person.

My own life experiences and struggles have called upon me to utilize the coping and problem skills I teach others. They have taught me that we all face difficult challenges which at times threaten to overwhelm our ability to cope. I have learned that it is possible to work through pain, crisis and problems, making our way through the darkness and emerging into the light. Through these difficult, dark times the support of a strong therapeutic relationship can be extremely helpful.
