My Approach to Helping
My first therapist, when I was a teenager, was an ex-priest. I don''t know why he left the priesthood but I am grateful that he did. To this day, I wonder where I would be in life if I had not met him when I did. He may have saved my life, I can''t know for certain. What I do know is that my experience with him was so positive that it changed my life trajectory.
Over the many years since then I have had many therapists. Some I fired because they weren''t a good fit for me. Others I kept for years. All were different from one another. The common thread of those therapists I kept is simple; I felt they liked me, they could see me for who I was, and I felt they truly cared about me.
What I have gained from my own therapy is what I offer to you, that is, an openness to learn about you and authentic caring about you and what matters to you. My mission is to provide you with the attention and care you need to make your life what you want it to be. I''m here to meet you as you are, to help you in the ways you want to be helped---and do that with respect, compassion, and kindness.
So, whether you are looking for your first therapist, or your 50th, I am here to work with you.
