Do you know that a fuller, richer life is possible but can't access it? Are you wanting more satisfying relationships but keep getting stuck in painful patterns? A therapy relationship is a unique opportunity to safely explore parts of your life and yourself in the presence of another. With compassion, authenticity, and a gentle curiosity, I can help you discover and attend to the limiting beliefs and old wounds that have been keeping you from the life you want. We will explore the areas that have been causing you trouble, with particular attention to your here-and-now experience. I will bring both directness, a sense of humor, and over 15 years experience to our work together.

More Info About My Practice

I typically work with people one or more times weekly. Couples often choose to do a longer (75 minute) session as it can feel more spacious.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

Relationship Problems, Life Transitions, Perfectionism, Shame, Addiction and Recovery, Adult Children of Alcoholics, LGBTQQ and coming out issues, Infertility, Trauma

My Therapy Focus

When working with couples, I use Emotionally Focused Therapy- an approach based on the understanding that we are wired for connection, and that when couples feel a safe and strong connection, they are able to handle the inevitable challenges of life together.
In individual work, I listen deeply for ways that past experiences and strategies to manage them show up in the present. This means we may use our relationship as a laboratory of sorts, to discover old patterns and try on new ways of relating to yourself and to others.
