It's the relationship...My goal is to establish the most intimate and collaborative relationship possible with you, so that together we can change the habits of feeling, thinking, and behaving that are a source of frustration and unfulfillment in your life and relationships. We will take as much time as you need to feel safe and secure in our connection, so that you can surrender to your own unfolding process in my company. The relationship we create will be unique to the two of us, so there is no generic method or technique. If remembering and bringing in your dreams is something you enjoy, I love working with dreams. Or you may bring in objects that are meaningful to you that we would think about together in ways that cue your deeper psychic work. One way or another, I work for us to have the most honest, significant, and transformational conversations, all in the interest of your personal development. Laughter is always welcome, and sometimes worth analyzing too.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
My skills cover the wide variety of symptoms that are almost invariably the response to failures and misattunements in our earliest childhood relationships, together with the self-protective patterns we have developed in response to these early failures. Symptoms include anxiety and depression, mood swings, low self-esteem, difficulties with trust and attachment, feeling overwhelmed by intense emotions, including anger, irritability, fears, and phobias. My areas of specialization include couples therapy, women's issues, creativity in all media, illness, aging and mortality, and the complementarity of psychological and spiritual development.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
The psychotherapeutic conversation introduces you to on your self in ways that help you become more mature, and have a more nuanced and complex understanding of your own and of all of our humanity. We are all broken and all worthy of love and compassion. Some breaks can be well mended, others may not be. We do our best, ongoingly. Many of us have hidden pockets of experience that we have not been able to be in touch with on our own, usually difficult experience that has been beyond our capacity to name accurately and process. In a secure therapeutic relationship, which is always compassionate and non- judgmental, these "lost" bits of ourselves become know-able, finally. We are less constrained, fuller, when these are integrated into our sense of self. It always delights me to discover with each and every person I work with, how their unique creativity, spontaneity, and sense of humor emerge in response to this profound work.
