Most of my work has been with younger adults, 18 - 40 who have concerns about career and personal relationship. Cultural sensitivity, acceptance, and compassion are central themes in my work. My approach employs elements of Psycho-dynamic, Cognitive Behavioral, Existential and Mindfulness based therapies. I am open to all ages, genders and sexualities, and work with both individuals and couples. Much of my work has been in substance abuse, career counseling, and managing anxiety and depression. As a gay identified therapist, I am especially sensitive to the needs of Gay and Bisexual young people.

More Info About My Practice
In addition to my clinical work, I am a Consultant and Expert Witness in the regulatory standard of care. This work is founded in many years experience in administrative and clinical roles in psychiatric hospital, drug and alcohol clinics, nursing homes and other behavioral health settings. I am available to consult on cases prior to litigation, and work both with plaintiff and defense attorneys in the area of wrongful injury.
My home office is in the Forest Hills section of Jamaica Plain, with easy access to the Orange Line. There is off street parking. I currently accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, Tufts, Harvard Pilgrim and private pay reimbursement. The Private per session fee is $125 for individuals, $140 for couples. My Expert Witness rates are available upon request.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
I truly enjoy watching people learn new skills to manage their lives. Therapy works in the context of a trusting, positive and non-judgemental relationship. The joy of therapy is in building that relationship and observing positive change and personal growth as sessions progress. As a father of a young adult and an identified Gay therapist, I feel I have a somewhat unique perspective on life's challenges. As a mature person I draw on a wealth of personal and professional experience which I look back without regret on all of that experience.
