"Can you fight the urge to run for another day? You might make it further, if you learn to stay." - Brandi Carlile.

We live in a world where there is constant pressure from internal and external sources to think a certain way, act a certain way, dress a certain way, and feel a certain way. In the midst of all of this pressure it can be challenging to connect with our true selves. Through our work together you will learn to stay and reconnect with your inner self so that you can walk in the world each day and "Be You!"

Darwin states, "It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change." Starting at birth and continuing throughout our lives we are skilled in adapting to the pressures we feel from the family in which we were born into, the friends we make, the partners we select, the culture/race we inherit, and the communities we live in. To survive we often have to give up our voices, hide our emotions, and forgo the process of creating a life that resonates with who we are. As a child these responses are necessary and life saving, but as an adult they are damaging and keep us from finding love, happiness, abundance, and a sense of purpose. By learning how to speak honestly, express authentically, and create purposefully, we can find our voices and discover what it means to "Be You!"

More Info About My Practice

I understand the importance of the client-therapist relationship and invite people to come in and meet with me in person for their first session. If they are not interested in coming in for a second session, they their first session is FREE of charge. This will allow them to see if I'm the person they want to work with--before making a commitment.

I do accept insurance from individuals whose plans have out-of-network benefits, and for those who do not have out-of-network benefits I am happy to utilize a sliding scale to meet their financial needs.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

The connection between the client and their therapist represents an opportunity to create a healthy, functioning relationship in which both individuals are present and active in its development and maintenance. Some people may find it hard to trust others and part of their work will be learning how to trust their therapist. Others may feel inauthentic and powerless to speak up for themselves, and their work will be to find their power and speak their truth to their therapist. Through this process people will need to be supported to speak openly and honestly about their thoughts and feelings. The role of the therapist is to help facilitate that process by saying and doing what is right for the client.
