I believe psychotherapy to be a path towards living our lives with more and more of ourselves available and present. The fuller our presence, the freer our lives become.

In some way, life as a human being is challenging for all of us. I believe that what is happening in present moment time--in one's inner life and out in the world; in relationship to one's self and to another--holds the key to unlocking the door to our suffering and to our deepest joys as well.

My approach in working with others is as a guide. I believe that we all have within us the resources to grow, heal and transform our lives, and often simply need a compassionate and experienced "other/presence" to both teach us tools and help us unlock the "treasure chest" of our true knowing.

In our work together, through the practices of inquiry (mindful investigation, questioning and understanding), embodiment (experiential, imaginal and body-centered) and relationship (direct experiencing of being with another), we can re-discover our innate capacity, tenacity, and resiliency, allowing for us to live more truly who we are free to be.

More Info About My Practice

In addition to my individual work with clients, I offer group work processes that work with presence, awareness, and embodiment in a group setting, along with a strong "creativity" component. In group work, we can more deeply dive into relationship, directly experiencing what arises within ourselves as well as within the group as a whole. Together, we work with our barriers to intimacy while nourishing our strengths and capacities for contact and connection.

I also offer wilderness and nature-based retreats. The orientation and practices are similar to individual and group work processes, with a strong emphasis on re-discovering how to listen, sense and be in relationship with the natural world--something that is so vital to our humanity.

I work with teens and adults--individual and group work.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

It helped me! While in my 30's, I made a great discovery. I was simultaneously doing my own psychotherapy and practicing Vipassana meditation. Through my own direct experience, I came to know that both paths pointed to the truth of our innate capacity to find our way through our history, pain and consequent suffering. The result: living a more vital, joyous and embodied life.

Over decades of working with people, I have seen the same truth light up their life as well.
