I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Nationally Certified Counselor, and Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist who provides individual, group, family-centered, and couples counseling for adolescents and adults, specializing in helping individuals, couples, and families overcome the difficulties associated with depressive disorders, bipolar disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, and issues associated with anger, trauma, and relationships. I have provided therapy in private practice, residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient settings. My therapeutic approach is eclectic and consists of mindfulness, cognitive, behavioral, and interpersonal approaches. I have received specialized and extensive training in both Dialectical Behavior Therapy and hypnotherapy. My past work in the women's health field very much informs how I approach my work with individuals and families. I value honest and thoughtful communication, as I communicate in an attentive, supportive, compassionate, empowering, and non-judgmental manner while being authentic, direct, and transparent. I utilize validation, humor, and metaphors in therapy to foster connection and to create space for healthy, long-lasting change as I help individuals accept and understand their own thoughts, emotions, actions, and experiences so they may more effectively navigate their relationships with themselves and the world.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

I believe the client-therapist alliance is the most important factor in effective therapy. I seek to be understanding, validating, and relatable as I develop and strengthen my relationship with my clients. I am open, honest, and transparent while being respectful and thoughtful. I am always open to and welcome direct and honest feedback from my clients on what's working in therapy and changes/new directions clients would like to make during the course of therapy.
