My hope is to counsel clients navigating significant difficulties and obstacles in their lives. I like to get to know each person's individual needs, then collaboratively address whatever challenges might need the most attention. I also utilize insight to help clients overcome these challenges and, through their own process of empowerment, help each individual gain the skills to live better lives.

More Info About My Practice
My specialties include: substance and addiction issues, behavioral and relational issues, depression, spirituality, and men's issues. I work with clients from broad cultural backgrounds and welcome diversity. I always reserve slots for couples and adolescents. I have an approach that's focused, yet compassionate.
My education includes a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health and a master's degree in Special Education. I have experience: counseling adult individuals, counseling couples with relational issues and working with teens struggling with behavior and disabilities. I lived in Asia as a Peace Corps volunteer.
My Guiding Ethical Principles
I have practiced meditation for ten years. During this time I have become more and more focused doing what's 'right'. As a therapist I feel its my duty to treat my clients' thoughts, feelings and emotions with the highest level of trust, regard and confidence.
I think this is the true beauty of therapy. That a client trusts an 'other' to hold that which they feel their most intimate, while they both work together to figure out what to do/think/feel/try next.
How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
In my late twenties, I felt a little confused about my path in life. After some significant prodding from my sister, I decided to go see a therapist. This helped set me down a path to determining who I really was and what I wanted out of life. Gradually, through my own insight, I decided that I'd like to be a therapist one day to help others make sense of their own lives.
