More Info About My Practice
I'm a warm, supportive, goal-focused therapist with a focus on helping you bring the positive effects of therapy into your everyday life.
I am not a one size fits all therapist. I offer options to match your style, problems and goals.
I am a real person, respectful and accessible. Of course therapy is a professional relationship, and yet we are all human beings first.
This is a private pay practice so that clients pay me and may receive reimbursement for any out of network insurance benefits you may have, or from health, flex spending accounts. I can also work with some with crime victims compensation or Tricare.
"I'm so happy I did this for myself. I'm more compassionate to myself and now I am more in control when I try to less to control things."
"We don't fight now, we communicate. It's so much easier now that I don't feel so on edge." "I never, never thought we could be this in love again."
How Psychotherapy Can Help
HOW I CAN HELP
Stress, balance and meaning in life.... Sometimes we may get a little beaten up by life... We work hard, do what we're supposed to do and it never seems to be enough. Or we're doing well, but somehow in keeping up with everything for everyone there's no room left for us in our life. Before we know it energy is lagging and we're not the person we want to be.
I offer a warm, supportive and non-judmental place to catch your breath and regroup. A place for a life tune up, to stop old unhealthy patterns and to develop new tools for life on your terms.
Call for a free 20-minute telephone consultation. 202-248-3818 or 917-547-4173.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
In my personal life, people often ask me how I listen to people's problems all day. I don't see my work like that at all.
I'm inspired by people's courage and hard work to create the lives they crave, and I'm honored that people trust me with their hopes and pains in this process. I'm completely optimistic in people's ability to overcome life's challenges, for us old and young "dogs to learn to tricks," and for each of us to adapt and grow. I've seen it over and over again through my 20 plus years as a therapist: Young people finding their sea legs and confidence in the world; Adults giving themselves a place to heal and take in support, sometimes for the first time in their life; Couples coming in spitting mad at each other, and leaving so in love that they don't realize they're in my office anymore. What could be more inspiring?
The work can sometimes be quick and straightforward, or slow and difficult at other times, but either way I trust that whoever is sitting across from me is a good person who's responding to some bad situations, and I am happy that it's my job to help them find healthy ways to grow into a life that they desire and deserve.
I'm built for this work. It would be my honor to work together as you find the courage to name your life goals or to ask what you want in life.
