Everyone experiences stress. Occasionally we are overwhelmed with emotion and complexity. That's where I see counseling as being helpful. My role as counselor is to help you clarify your thoughts so that better decisions can be made while strong emotions are present.

Common themes presented in session:
Stressors: death of loved one, leaving home, career stress, health status change, financial stress, trauma
Relational: relationship beginnings and endings, difficulty letting go, fear of intimacy, fear of being alone, control issues
Emotional: anxiety, anger, depression, grief, numbness
Behavioral: addictions, apathy, avoidance (fear)

People who work well with me say they feel less reactive to the same old stressors allowing them to make better choices with an increased sense of confidence. They get more of what they really want from their relationships and life in general.
