Sometimes we find ourselves feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, pressures from work, school and relationships. When these feelings continue, we can find ourselves cycling through unhelpful thinking patterns. It can be hard to enjoy the good things in our lives or want to to do things we once enjoyed. This is the time to seek professional help from a skilled therapist. I help people to clarify their thinking, make sense of the "noise" and use strategies to work through difficult issues.

My job as a therapist is to help you find meaningful strategies to cope with emotional and psychological pain. Families, couples and individuals come to find tools, interventions and productive ways to communicate and work towards resolutions. Take the first step in getting help by calling today for a consultation or to schedule an appointment. Together we can find room for positive change and you will take the skills and strategies we develop beyond our work and into your life for sustained wellness.

More Info About My Practice

The office is conveniently located to Septa and has free onsite parking. I accept insurance and offer a sliding scale on a need basis. I am a member of the American Counseling Association, The Brain Injury Association of Pa and the Pa Counseling Association.

The best part of working with people is being allowed to enter their worlds and help them to make a difference in their lives and the lives of their families.

My Therapy Focus

As a therapist, I help people clarify and make sense of difficult issues. Sometimes people can feel stuck and when that becomes a persistent pattern, they may not realize their lives can be different or better. I My job is to listen without judgement or evaluation to help identify peoples struggles and roadblocks and help them to find their way out and forward. Together, we disentangle and make sense of troubling issues, identify what is missing and what is most important.

Some people feel going to therapy makes them weak. They believe they should be able to handle their problems alone. The opposite is true. It takes courage to admit when you need help and to be willing to work through difficult problems and feelings.

People are sometimes worried that they will be in therapy forever. Therapy should not be decades long with a therapist focused on uncovering every embarrassing or painful experience in minute detail. Therapy should focus on what is important to the person coming for help and end when they feel better. Some people come back for "tune ups", like a visit to the Dr. when they are sick. The duration and frequency of therapy is decided by the client, not the therapist.

People ask me, "What type of problem, or how big should a problem be for me to seek therapy". Problems are situations or circumstances which interfere with our happiness or ability to function in a positive and productive way.
