My Approach to Helping

Are you experiencing a wide range of emotions? Are you going thru a difficult transition at this time in your life and find it hard to get your needs met? These experiences can cause anxiety and or depression. Sometimes it helps to talk to someone who can give you some much-needed empathy, offer some insight and and relate to what you are going through. I am willing to guide you through the storm and assist you with finding some peace of mind.

I am a Psychotherapist specializing in transition issues, anxiety, depression, and relationship conflict, as well as codependents involved in a narcissistic relationship. My philosophy is to meet my clients where they are using an eclectic approach and to help them understand their behavior patterns, gain insight into their past and current challenges and help them feel empowered in their daily life. I am also a Life Coach focusing on transformation, self-esteem and self-sabotage, mind-body balance and productivity. Change is hard. Chronic stress can sneak up on you. I've been there too. If you are feeling overwhelmed or unsure of the next step to take, don't hesitate to reach out for a lifeline. You don't have to stay anxious and or depressed. Therapy and coaching have been around for a long time. An abundance of clinical research shows they are a proven method of helping to create change, positivity and, most importantly, a meaningful life.

More Info About My Practice

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia and the District of Columbia. I am also a National Certified Counselor (NCC), as well as a Life Coach. I offer 15 years of clinical experience in counseling and coaching and over 12 years experience in the field of Human Resources. Prior to counseling, I worked in the corporate world in HR management and leadership roles. My current role, whether as a therapist or life coach, is to act as a collaborator and to challenge you to be your best self. I practice a holistic approach in my work. I believe the mind, body and spirit should play well together. In addition, I believe it is a privilege to engage in the therapy and or coaching process with you. And, I know it takes courage to commit to creating new beginnings.

I do not currently accept insurance. However, I can give you a receipt which allows you to get reimbursed. I currently charge $125.00 for a 45 minute session. In addition, I offer a free 10 minute intro consultation to help you make an informed decision. Coaching is provided on a contract basis.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

Psychotherapy and Life Coaching provides a safe, nonjudgmental atmosphere where you can feel accepted and supported. During your time in therapy or a coaching session, your story is the only story the therapist or coach is listening to. It is your time to be heard. It is your time to heal. In fact, the most important aspect of therapy or coaching is to connect with the therapist or coach. Then you know you are in the right place!
