Are you or someone you love struggling with the stress of disability or a physical illness? Are you tired of living with anxiety or depression? It's possible for you to achieve wellness in body, spirit, and mind!
I use evidence-based treatments, including cognitive-behavioral therapy and mindfulness, to help you cope with illness and disability, nurture healthy behaviors such as good sleep, a healthy diet, and positive stress management, and help you lift feelings of depression and anxiety. I'll support you in choosing new goals and values, nurturing a sense of body-mind awareness, and using your new skills to make positive life changes.
I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and specialize in acceptance and mindfulness-based practices, in addition to cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT).

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I have specific expertise in working with clients with chronic illness and disability, and have several years' experience working in medical clinics and hospitals. I frequently incorporate mind-body practices (e.g., mindfulness, breathing, relaxation) into therapy.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
I am a behavioral health specialist who focuses on the powerful interactions between the mind and body -- how stress and emotional pain impact the body and how bodily pain and illness impact psychological well being. I believe that "feeling better" means being empowered to live the life YOU want rather than being taken over by stress, fear, pain, and illness. With all of my clients, I carefully monitor progress indicators to make sure that what we're doing is working and clients' goals are being met. Through psychotherapy, I help clients engage more meaningfully in their lives and relationships, obtain better sleep, and respond to stress more effectively.
