You may be struggling to understand and cope with the situations in your life--both past and present. I will offer you a safe place to be heard and explore what lies behind your experiences and your reactions to them. And I will help you find your authentic voice and power so that you can get unstuck and move forward with the insights you glean from our work together.

Years of doing my own personal work have helped me to relate deeply to others with a heightened intuition and an open heart. I consider our work to be sacred. I have worked with individuals, couples and families for over 20 years, helping them learn to communicate and relate better, as well as grow into their highest potential.

Therapy can be short, focusing on a specific area of your life. It can also be a journey that you take to explore the deeper aspects of yourself. In either case, your relationship with your therapist is paramount. This therapeutic relationship should engender trust and a feeling of support, compassion and authentic communication.

I use several approaches and techniques, all designed to help you get in touch with your inner drives, motivations and desires. I welcome the opportunity to talk to you about your needs at this point in your life and how I might be able to help you better understand and meet them.

More Info About My Practice

I do not take insurance, although some insurance plans will cover me as an out-of-network provider. You can call your own insurance company to find out about your specific plan.

My 50-minute rate is $130, payable at the time we meet. I take all forms of payment, including credit cards.

I will be happy to provide you with a receipt with all the information you need to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement or for your HSA.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

In my opinion, therapy is NOT about fixing you or working on "defects." We all have deficits in our coping mechanisms--things our parents and other adults could not teach us. One of the most important functions of therapy is to help you accept who your are; to learn healthier ways to meet your needs and relate to people; and to develop a deep compassion for the journey you are on. Another purpose of therapy is to help you release any shame you've carried from childhood on. Once shame is released, you are freer to be more authentic and powerful in the world. Your vulnerability and openness will become your strength.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

It's true that in the past therapy was looked at as a weakness, that only "crazy" or "insane" people would need. Now we know that seeking therapy is one of the bravest things one can do, and you'll find people from all walks of life seeking therapy to work on numerous issues. The stigma around therapy no longer applies, although your may still find judgments about it. It takes courage to face your fears and doubts and to work on personal issues. Having done so myself for years, I am happy to say that as I've faced and worked through many of my issues, I have felt freer, calmer, more confident and authentic in my life. My deepest wish is that I can help you feel the same..
