Collaborating with parents is a joy! We all wish the best for our children. Having an outside voice that speaks plainly recognizing the many positive attributes you bring as a parent is very helpful. Do not fear, you are not alone. I am first a husband of 25 years and a father of six boys. No matter what the struggle is within your family we can find healing and restoration. Historically, Children I have worked with struggled with trauma, abuse, aggression, defiance, hopelessness, social issues, crisis, and withdrawing behaviors.

More Info About My Practice
I am a pastor with years of experience working with young people. I am certified in Elijah House prayer counseling. If you wish to incorporate spiritual counseling, I am capable. When it comes to trauma, I use an evidenced-based therapy called, "TF-CBT". Proven to work and brief in nature, TF-CBT has been effective with children 3 to 18 year of age. When appropriate, I also use Prepare & Enrich. This assessment has over 250,000 case studies.
How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
Parenting is not for the faint of heart. Nothing draws more out of you or gives you a better sense of purpose. Nothing reveals more insecurities or fears then parenting. Mindy and I have graduated our two oldest out of our home, have one in college, one in high school, and two in Junior high. My many years of educational experience and family experience is fueled by my passion for helping struggling families.
My View on the Nature of 'Disorders'
The reality is we all exhibit sympomatic behaviors that could point to a disorder. I value having a process for classifying disorder, and I really value not giving anydisorder ultimate power. PTSD does not own an individual or is PTSD the individuas identity. We are beautiful unique and wonderful beings.
