Welcome! I highly enjoy working with families, couples and individuals, especially with young women of all ages. I am very well versed in the issues that women are facing in the work force, in the their home life, as well as, in the school arena. I try to provide a safe environment of trust so that my clients are able to face their issues and ultimately be empowered to make the right decisions and changes in their lives.

I also have experience in working with individuals with anxiety and mood disorders. It is difficult to face life when emotional reactiveness takes over. I therapy I will work with the client to deconstruct their thoughts, emotions and behaviors to get to the core of what is causing to react emotionally.

My therapeutic approach is Cognitive Behavioral. This approach addresses how your cognitions and emotions can effect your behaviors (and vice versa). However, depending on the issue at hand, I may use an eclectic approach.

I have experience in treating a variety of emotional and behavioral issues. However, if I feel that a client's particular problem is outside my scope of practice, I will provide referrals for a more appropriate provider.

More Info About My Practice

I am on a number of insurance panels. I am more than willing to bill out-of-network for those clients who have insurance that I am not currently paneled with.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I see a wide range of individuals, families and couples. I do enjoy working with young adults. There are a wide range of issues that I have experience with such as: adolescent social issues; scholastic issues; parent-child problems; college transition; lack of social support; identity issues; relationship issues; pre-marital issues; depression; anxiety; self esteem issues and loneliness.

I enjoy working with this population because I feel that young adulthood (which I feel can be a a range from 13 to 38!) are exciting years which can be very daunting to face. I have had a wide range of experience in my own life that I have used to assist others in similar situations. I feel that dealing with issues in this age range has a wide reaching effect for an adults' future.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist

When you are choosing a therapist, I feel that an important aspect that you should look for, besides having good credentials, is that you must feel comfortable with the person. I will do meet and greets on the phone or at my office because I believe that clients have to be able to form a comfortable repport their therapist. A client has to feel safe with their therapist because for therapy to be effective, clients have to be truthful, feel safe to show their emotional vulnerability and thoughts, as well as, be comfortable to share their inner most secrets.
