You may be looking for a therapist because the quest to be perfect and avoid criticism is exhausting. You may feel like others have it all together and you're missing something. Sometimes this can lead to numbing (alcohol, shopping, the internet, food, etc.), and feelings of helplessness that things could ever change. People can be wary and resistant to change because it brings up feelings of uncertainty and vulnerability. However, you may have reached a point where you are ready to say, "enough!" You can't continue on the current path, and you are looking for someone to help you discover a new way to deal with these feelings.

More Info About My Practice

In addition to individual, couples, and family therapy, I run therapy groups and workshops. Groups and workshops are often seen as secondary to individual therapy, but this is a misconception. Groups and/or workshops can be more affordable, and more efficient in helping you to overcome the barriers in your life. People on average, do about 6 months worth of therapeutic growth over the course of an 8 week workshop. The power of connection, validation, and the support is transformational.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

This is not just a "job" to me. I am extremely passionate about this work and committed your personal growth and development. There is nothing better than traveling through the change process-- I like to call it a metamorphosis-- and seeing people emerge more confident, assertive, and optimistic about themselves and the road that lies ahead. I would love to take that journey with you.

My Therapy Focus

The curriculum I use is based on the research of Dr. Brene Brown.
It helps you understand:
*how feelings of unworthiness or not being "good enough" effect your life
*the obstacles you may use as armor that prevent you from being who you want to be (alcohol, food, facebook, isolation, sleep, shopping, sex, work, etc).
*how to identify your feelings and your values to use them to guide you to leading a life that is the most "you."
