While many therapists feel overwhelmed, stressed, and burned out over time, I feel rejuvenated as I join with my clients as they engage in the work necessary to resolve their presenting problems. My particular modalities of therapy draw upon the established approaches including Experiential Family Therapy, Structural - Strategic Family Therapy, Gestalt, and Structural Family Therapy. I rely upon the therapeutic relationship to create the safety needed for clients to face the difficult work they need to do in order to overcome their presenting problems.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I find it a privilege to be able to work with my clients as they address difficult problems in life. Being able to participate with my clients as they face and overcome their presenting problems is a rewarding and fulfilling aspect of my work.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

Although it is not required for a therapist to have gone through the same life events as their client in order to be therapeutic, I have experienced a variety of difficult and challenging experiences in my life. Because of these trials, I am better able to expand my understanding for what it must be like for my clients to experience their distress which brings them to treatment.
