I work with each person, couple, family, or child uniquely. Taking time to explore needs, set goals, work together on a plan for moving forward are important first steps. I think that although I take my work seriously, I bring humor and creativity to the process of healing as well as coming from an open perspective and non-judgmental place. I respect all people, ages, gender, gender identity, ethnicities, and cultural backgrounds.

More Info About My Practice
Your time in your session is for you to come to a place, a space where you can just be you. Whether you come to feel supported, to explore issues, to find understanding, to be heard, to allow for healing, to relax, to heighten awareness, or learn. I work with modalities that are more traditional (CBT, solutions focused, DBT) and in areas of more creative processes (expressive art, contemplative psychotherapy, mindfulness), as well as practicing EMDR for trauma related issues and hypnotherapy. I enjoy working with individuals, couples, family systems, children, adoption and foster care, depression, anxiety, and ADHD. I work with other issues as well, depending upon client needs, we figure out a treatment plan that is a process of collaboration and comfort.
Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
I know how it can be difficult to find a therapist that you feel is competant and that you are comfortable with. Finding someone that you can feel comfortable with and open up with is not easy. This is why I offer a free consultation with for clients who feel like they would like the opportunity to come in and meet and experience a session.
How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
I have personally dealt with anxiety, ADHD, hormone related depression and symptoms, cancer, divorce, serious family illness, grief and loss, working in foster care and addictions, and being a parent. As I have moved throughout life, each experience helped me grow as a therapist as I have been able to connect differently with clients when finding myself in situations where I had to deal with my own issues. I have worked in my own life to live what I believe, what I know works, and going through processes of healing. I have been in very difficult emotional places, so I know how awful it can feel to be in extremely anxious and depressive situations. Thus, I can relate and have an understanding of life challenges and difficult emotions.
