I feel that individuals just need support and encouragement to aid them in making changes in their lives. I really enjoy helping others get through difficult times and I focus my energy on allowing them to lead where they want therapy to go. I offer late night counseling appointments because I understand work schedules are demanding.

More Info About My Practice

Currently, I do not accept insurance. Insurance requires a diagnosis and restricts counseling to a minimum number of sessions allotted. My rate is $75 for a 50 minute session.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

Therapy is scary. Knowing that a stranger is about to know intimate details about your life is nerve racking. The most important aspect of counseling is the relationship between the individual and the therapist. With that in mind, meet with a counselor and see if you like their personality and approach. You have to enjoy the person you are in counseling with and finding that right counselor will put your mind at ease and it won't feel nearly as terrifying.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

Many people I know are afraid that once they begin counseling it'll be intensive, weekly sessions that last for 5-10 years. Honestly, some people get what they need out of one session. Others can come bi-weekly or once a month and feel that it fits them best. You have the right to decide how often you attend counseling.

Typically, counseling sessions are around an hour. I always make my sessions 50 minutes long to allow for time to wrap up, collect payment, write notes, and take breaks between clients.
