My belief in the capacity of a person to change is fundamental to my approach to therapy. Even if that change is as simple as the person "feeling better" after the first session. If that happens, it means I have made a positive connection with this prospective patient and the person has left with hope that they are no longer alone with their problems.

More Info About My Practice
I have been in practice many years and have been trained in many different modalities and techniques. My training began in traditional psychoanalysis and I practiced that for about 15 years. Over the years, I took many trainings including cognitive behavioral therapy, rational emotive behavioral therapy, the technique for treating post traumatic stress (EMDR), hypnosis, and cognitive behavioral hypnotherapy. So my approach to helping people solve their problems is multi-faceted.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
My training allows me to help people with a wide range of problems in living: fears of abandonment, identity confusion, inter-personal family, couple or group conflicts, feelings of fatigue and depression, anxious dreaming, insomnia, habits, smoking, pain control from natural events like childbirth, to serious illnesses like cancer, or preparation for surgery.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
The therapeutic aspect of psychotherapy is embedded in the nature of the relationship established between the therapist and the patient. Regardless of method or technique used, effective helpful therapy rests in the delivery or implementation of each therapeutic approach in the trusting, kind, empathic, and thoughtful relationship that is established between the therapist and the patient.
