I specialize in working with artists, entrepreneurs, and other strong-willed individuals. My approach involves balancing support and challenge, acceptance and accountability. Balance is key: whether we are working at the level of the body, your sexuality, creativity, emotionality, your interpersonal life, the intellectual realm - respect for your most basic needs and interests serves as the orienting theme. Therapy can be a great adventure: it is the adventure of personal transformation, of coming more and more into your own, of connecting more and more richly with the world of people and of things. Call me with any questions or to set up an initial consultation.

More Info About My Practice

Here are a few of the most common things I help clients with:

-stuckness with a life transition (such as a breakup or a career dissatisfaction)
-stuckness with anxiety or depression or issues of self esteem
-desire for greater fulfillment, flow, or meaning in life

The joy of my work is seeing clients bringing greater authority to their lives - and greater capacity for tenderness and feeling.

Also: I work with individuals both one-on-one and in group settings. I often find the group modality especially beneficial for working through issues at the interpersonal level.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

Therapy can help in a variety of ways. It can facilitate greater self acceptance and integration of experience; it can stimulate you toward greater assertiveness and ownership of your life; it can offer experiences to slowly discharge problematic fears and develop strength in creative and interpersonal arenas. It can help through the use of specific methods and techniques, and it can help more generally via the quality of the relationship that develops between therapist and client.
