I believe we all have the potential for great growth. I work with my clients to identify and clarify their goals and make specific steps toward achieving them. I use a variety of therapeutic methods and adapt my approach to the specific needs of the client. I often give concrete "homework" to my clients for them to work on between sessions. When my clients are engaged in the process and committed to their personal growth, I frequently see faster results. One of my favorite parts of the therapeutic process is when my clients can confidently tell me, "I don't need you anymore," and I know my job is done.

More Info About My Practice
I love to think outside the box with my clients, helping them find creative solutions to real life issues.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
Some of my greatest passions are working with parents and dealing with Women's issues.
First, I have found after many years that when parents are struggling with a child or adolescent and their behavior, the most effective treatment is to work with the parent, empowering them to make the changes in their homes that has lasting impact beyond what can be accomplished in the office setting. I am happy to work with young kids through adolescents, but will not do so without the involvement and buy in of the parents. I deal with everything from emotional/behavior issues, divorce/custody, reunification therapy, co-parenting therapy, blended family issues, strong-willed children, and many more.
For women's issues, I have groups for post-partum depression and pregnancy loss, as those times in a woman's life are powerful and can leave lasting impact in their lives and their loved ones' lives. I am also leading a women's empowerment group and plan to start a group for people trying to pursue greater holistic health.
My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
Navigating the struggles of life alone can wear a person down. I strongly believe that we can all use therapy at LEAST once in our lives. When a person is facing a struggle they cannot overcome alone, or are feeling as if they just can't attain the fulfillment they so desire, a therapist can help guide them through the process, overcome obstacles, challenge unhealthy beliefs and achieve their goals. As a therapist, I am trained in techniques that work to make such progress, as well as educated in the areas in which I focus my practice. As opposed to a friend who you can always talk to, as a therapist I will not sugar coat things, tell you what you want to hear if it isn't helpful, get my feelings hurt by what you say, always tell you to go the easiest route or be consumed by how it affects me. I am here to be your guide, support, challenger, coach, sounding board, and encourager, as you pursue the best you you can be.
