Relationships are essential to the healing process so finding the right therapist is a key part of effective therapy. Because the therapeutic relationship is so important, I make myself available for consultations prior to beginning therapy. Please find some information about my approach to therapy below and feel free to contact me to schedule a consultation time so we can assess if my approach to therapy is good fit for you.

My approach to therapy involves an exploration of the unique experiences, situations and needs of the individual, couple or family in order to achieve their therapeutic goals and, most of all, help them feel satisfied in life. In therapy I apply concepts based in interpersonal neurobiology to develop a dynamic and multidimensional understanding of how we came to be the person we are today. This includes an understanding of how the interpersonal experiences in our lives shape who we are and why we have certain behavioral and relational patterns. In addition, this involves an exploration and connection with feelings, sensations, thoughts and dreams in life. As being mindful and connecting to the body are essential facets of well-being, I often employ mindfulness-based practices and concepts based in sensorimotor psychotherapy in the therapeutic process. I welcome the opportunity work collaboratively with people and help them make the connections necessary to achieve a sense of well-being and thrive in life.

More Info About My Practice

I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults. Adolescents and young adults face a unique set of challenges that includes many transitions. My work with this age group includes helping them make these transitions seamlessly and develop coping skills that they can apply to the many transitions they will make throughout their lives. In addition, my experience in psychoeducational and neuropsychological assessment affords me the knowledge to assist the unique needs of those who have various learning differences and/or difficulty with focusing, concentration and impulsivity.

I also specialize in women's mental and physical health issues including maternal and infertility issues.

I am a certified couples and sex therapist with AACAST. Couples often seek therapy because they are experiencing distress related to problems with communication, sexual dissatisfaction, and general dissatisfaction in their relationship. In addition, couples also frequently experience stress in their relationships when their child or children are experiencing problems. My training and work with children and adolescents as well as my training in couples therapy helps me effectively work with couples dealing with issues related to their child's struggles as I am able to help them understand and cope with their child's issues as well as the issues in their relationship.
