I specialize in helping individuals and couples with their relationships. Often, the turmoil is caused by subconscious forces that result in misunderstandings and dysfunctional patterns of communication. Sometimes there is confusion over whether or not to leave the relationship. I have a passion for helping individuals and couples gain a deeper awareness of what's happening so they can make better decisions and choices in their relationships.

Other areas where I can help: anxiety, depression, grief, life transition, and women's issues.

The therapeutic environment I provide allows individuals to release their deepest and most hurtful feelings in a confidential, secure and healing place. I use reflective listening and questioning to reveal unproductive thinking and behaviors, uncover a client's natural abilities, and teach useful skills for living.

My approach is supportive, respectful and encouraging. I consider myself a collaborator with my clients in helping them get relief from their burdens and regain emotional health.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

Inner emotional turmoil is often caused by difficult relationships, whether it is with a life partner, friend or family member, or a work colleague. The effects of past relationships, such as with a neglectful or manipulative parent, can adversely affect self-esteem and result in dysfunctional ways of relating and poor relationship choices. In therapy, we begin by exploring a person's relationship with self, which is the basis for developing all other relationships. Every individual has core beliefs about self and subconscious motivations that drive feelings and behavior towards others. However, often we are unaware of these inner motives. In treatment, clients gain deeper insight into fictional beliefs about self and others. They learn healthier ways to relate to others whether improving or ending a relationship.
