I am a Veteran of the Armed Forces and a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and Licensed Master Addiction Counselor (LMAC). I earned my Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Kansas State University and Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California. My graduate degree was focused on clinical mental health with a sub-concentration in Military Servicemembers, veterans, and our families.

I strongly believe that people change everyday and this best happens from a teamwork approach between you and I. I incorporate a strength-based approach; meaning, I am not simply asking, 'What is wrong with you?' I focus on 'What is right with you?'

I enjoy working with early teens up to late adulthood; to include individual sessions, family therapy, and group therapy. I specialize in various forms of trauma, anxiety, depression, substance abuse and addictions, obsessive compulsive behaviors and thoughts, adjustment to life changes, and health and wellness. If your concern is not listed here, please do not worry. Just give me a call and we will get you to where you want to be in life.

I use a combination of several therapeutic techniques to ensure you are provided the individualized care you deserve. A few of my therapy approaches are as follows:

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) , Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Problem Solving Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Experiential and Art Therapy, Crisis Intervention, Military Culture Focused Therapy; to include active duty Servicemembers, veterans, and our families.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

Everyday, people just like you, give me the honor of being a part of your life; in the most joyous of moments, the most trying, and all that is in between. We get to work side-by-side to discover what you want to change, how to achieve your goals, and then celebrate your successes. To me, sharing those journeys and experiences with you is what makes me happy to go into the office. Even when I have worked long hours and feel exhausted, I can look back on the day and feel that at some point, I helped someone feel valued, important, and capable. To me, that is all I need to stay passionate about my decision of entering the mental health field.
