Evening and Saturday Appointments Available for New Clients

I knew from a young age that I would never be able to have a career where I would be sitting behind a computer all day. I thrive and live for the human interaction that I get from being a therapist. It has been amazing and an honor to watch people grow, change, and achieve their goals. Being a therapist has been the most personally and professionally rewarding position I have ever had in my life. I recognize that change is not easy and making the call and setting up the first appointment is the hardest part. I will meet you where you are at and not where you/others thinks you should be. I have provided effective evidence-based treatment for children, adolescents, and adults in Bucks County for the last 10 years while working in mental health. My theoretical approach is eclectic but I primarily utilize Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, which means that I will teach you how changing your thoughts can lead to changes in your mood and your behavior. I have experience in working in a variety of settings from day programs, community based treatment, homeless shelters, correctional facilities, and outpatient settings.

More Info About My Practice

Like I said before, making the call is the hardest part. I will provide you with a free phone consultation for you to decide if you feel I would be a good fit for you or your child. My fee currently is $100 per session and I accept cash, check, or credit card. I do provide a discounted rate of 60 dollars for at least the first 8 sessions if you are in a financial bind but are in need of counseling services. I am located in Doylestown borough near the court house and off street parking is available. My availability is: Monday through Saturday 9am to 9pm depending on your needs. I am currently in the process of joining insurance panels. I can provide receipts for you to provide your insurance company if they provide out of network reimbursement.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I am a Certified Addiction Professional and my forte is addiction treatment. I specialize in treating all substance use/abuse and behavioral addictions. Substance use/abuse: alcohol, drugs, prescription medication, nicotine, steroids, pain medication, caffeine, diet pills, etc. Behavioral addictions: gambling, sex, tanning, work, exercise, relationships, love, internet, "selfies", video games, cell phone, spending, etc. I also specialize in providing education and support for loved ones and family members of someone who has an addiction. I also have a vast amount of experience helping people with depression, anxiety, codependency, low self-esteem, mood disorders, ODD, ADHD, relationship issues, and PTSD. I have worked with many individuals who are survivors of trauma and abuse whether it be physical, emotional, or sexual abuse.

What I Usually Need to Know to Help

For someone who has never been in therapy before, I can understand how it can seem scary or overwhelming. Hopefully the information I provide makes you feel less anxious about beginning. Therapy is a paradox; meaning that as soon as you come in, I am trying to help you get out. Despite what you may have heard, you are not supposed to be in therapy forever. The first time we meet is considered the intake session, where we get to know each other and identify goals (and of course some paperwork) and what it would look like when you no longer need to be in treatment. This is called the miracle question. The next session, we will complete an assessment where we will discuss your family relationships, work, school, physical issues, etc. I do not expect you to discuss your deepest darkest secrets in that session. I understand that I will have to gain your trust and I will not push you until you are ready to discuss some of being more difficult things you may want to talk about. The reason the assessment piece is so important is that the more information I know, the better I can look at you as a whole and the better the interventions and treatment will be.
