I invite you to work more deeply in therapy by talking a little less and putting more awareness into your body sensations, feelings, memories, images, and physical sensations?so that we can access what lies beneath your habitual behaviors or emotional discomfort and support you in healing organically in the present moment.

The Psychotherapy Networker and AlterNet in October 2014 reported that the somatic (body-centered), mindfulness-based approach to therapy that I use offers a permanent way to rewire your brain. As a result, people experience improved mood and freedom from the behaviors they've wished to change. In my 20s and 30s, I was among those blessed by such healing, which is why I'm so passionate about helping others in a similar fashion!

I will never give you advice or tell you what to do. You will be the expert of your own body-mind. We will focus on more than just your thoughts, because your body is an integral part of the process of healing, growth, and change. Rather than concentrating on "fixing" a diagnosis or a problem, I will support you in cultivating self-compassion and realizing and embodying your true nature and creating the life you want.

As a result of our work together, clients have reported the ability to speak up for and assert themselves or set boundaries, found their voice, identified life goals, enhanced their careers, come to terms with grief and loss, improved relationships or ended unhealthy connections, owned their sensitivity or other unique gifts, learned to tolerate a range of emotions, knew their self-worth, and found themselves living fuller or more meaningful lives.

My Guiding Ethical Principles

I work within the five principles of The Hakomi Method, which include mindfulness (an exploratory, relaxed, alert, meditative state that allows you to move beyond your habitual thoughts and actions), mind-body holism (explores the way your core beliefs manifest in your body), nonviolence (a safe, cooperative, non-forceful way of working and honoring your defenses), and unity (recognizes that your environment, relationships, spirituality, and even parts of you that are in disagreement, are all a part of you and that you are part of a greater whole), and organicity (assumes that when all the parts are communicating within the whole, the system is self-directing and self-correcting, and has an inner wisdom of its own).
