More Info About My Practice

I'm originally from Tampa and began my practice here after completing two Master's degrees from Columbia University. I offer expert mental health services to families, couples, and individuals to help them find peace of mind and happiness.

My area of expertise includes treating adults with anxiety, depression, posttraumatic stress, and family conflicts. I also specialize in treating children and teenagers with attention deficit hyperactivity, social issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, academic issues, and behavioral challenges. When providing care for children, I utilize techniques from art and play therapy to encourage communication, develop positive behaviors, and teach effective coping skills. I also collaborate with parents during treatment as they play an integral role in successful therapy.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

My view of therapy is very simple - it's essentially self-education. Everyone can benefit from learning more about their thoughts, feelings and interactions with the world. Therapy is about increasing self-awareness - many times we engage in repetitive behaviors and thought patterns that go unchallenged and can wreck havoc on our lives and relationships. We all form beliefs about ourselves and the world at a young age based on childhood experiences and family relationships. Many times, these beliefs are inaccurate and can lead to low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, or relationship conflict. By coming to therapy, it allows you to fully explore yourself and learn how to make changes to improve your quality of life. Therapy can help you change how you experience the world by helping you reshape your thoughts and behaviors. Therapy can benefit everyone, no matter how great or little the challenge may be.
