Hello, my name is Ai ("I"), and I practice what I call holistic psychotherapy, which means I look at the parts, and the sum of the parts, of our human experiences.
I help adults, teens and families find relief from: sadness, lack of vitality, constant worry or uneasiness, inability to feel calm, overly busy minds, depression, recurring memories of past bad experiences, death of loved ones, habitual behaviors, unsatisfying relationships, ADHD, low self worth, and self criticism.
In addition to psychology, I am informed by over twenty years of deep yoga and meditation (mainly kundalini) practice, which has shown me how our mind, heart, and body inter-relate as one organism. I have a knack for helping people see the unseen patterns, and encouraging one's own path. In the end, it is your life and you must be pleased with how you are living it, based on your own beliefs and truths - that will bring peace inside and out.
I work quite intuitively and also with knowledge of applied psychology. I consider myself to be a heart-centered therapist foremost, with intellect being a useful helper. The people who seek me are often curious about the body-mind-spirit perspective, and want a therapist who can address their current challenges this way.
If you are unsure about scheduling a first appointment, then I welcome you to contact me for a free phone consultation. We can speak more specifically about your personal concerns and how I may assist you.

Training & Experience
I completed my Masters Degree in Applied Behavioral Sciences (Systems Counseling) from Bastyr University/LIOS in 2008. My clinical practicum was at Greater Lakes Mental Healthcare in the Child & Family Department. I took the extensive domestic violence training at Domestic Abuse Womens Network in 2010, and served as a volunteer counselor that year supporting women in that particular situation.
I have been a holistic psychotherapist in private practice since 2009, offering mental health counseling, yoga & meditation, and energy healing work in Seattle. I have studied and practiced yoga since 1995, and have taught kundalini yoga & meditation extensively since 2005. My classes and workshops are a melding of western psychology and applied yogic & spiritual wisdom.
I have taught weekly classes at various locations for many years, including in yoga teacher trainings and courses in the US, India and Japan. I have a universal perspective in regard to spirituality, and enjoy working with clients who are interested in bringing that part of themselves into therapy.
Areas of study and joy that have influenced me over the years include: natural healing and nutrition, hatha yoga, vinyasa yoga, kundalini yoga, various meditation practices, astrology, tarot, ritual, ancestors, writing, religion, archetypes, 5 rhythms dance, music, aerial arts, gardening, traveling and cooking.
