Mental Health Statistics for Chesterfield

Mental health seems to be improving in Chesterfield and the surrounding St. Louis County. In 2014, over 6,785 county residents were sent to the emergency room and then hospitalized for a mental health condition. Yet by 2016, this number had decreased by 32% to 4,631. The number of people who visited the emergency room without hospitalization also decreased in that time (7,090 to 6,065).

In 2017, St. Louis County’s Division of Behavioral Health treated 5,352 individuals from Chesterfield and nearby cities. Most cases (2,920) involved a mood issue such as depression.
