My Approach to Helping
My clinical style is integrative and collaborative, drawing from research-supported clinical theories and techniques, with a focus on providing effective solutions aimed at improving your overall health and wellbeing. I start all therapeutic relationships by getting to know more about you and answering any questions you may have about my background, experiences, and approach to therapy. In general, my interventions are aimed at helping people move from where they are now to where they would like to be in the future. I believe it is important to acknowledge and honor the influence of past experiences (such as family of origin experiences) on a person's current functioning, yet it is equally important to stay focused on the present and help people make distinctions between their past and the present circumstances.

More Info About My Practice
I am an in-network provider for nearly all Cigna plans. I am also able to provide those who have out-of-network benefits with other insurance companies all of the information they need to submit a claim for reimbursement.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I have dedicated my practice to helping singles and couples find fulfillment in their relationships. With singles, I incorporate "Conscious Dating" principles into our work together and help clients learn to become the "chooser" in their romantic relationships, while also helping them develop and implement core relationship skills required for healthy, lasting partnerships. When working with couples, I incorporate theory and strategies from top relationship experts - particularly from Gottman Method Couples Therapy. I also have a passion for working with people who are going through significant relationship changes (separation, divorce, remarriage). Rebuilding your life after a significant relationship ends can be a major challenge and many people benefit tremendously from coaching and guidance through this process. I particularly enjoy working with parents who are "in transition" - going through a separation or divorce, remarriage, and blending of families. Divorce can be one of the most impactful experiences a person has in their lifetime and people often benefit from receiving guidance as they navigate the slippery slope of courts, attorneys, mediation, co-parenting and begin to rebuild their life and move forward on a new path.

My Role as a Therapist

I strongly believes that a good "fit" between therapist and client is the most important factor in whether or not psychotherapy will be beneficial. I see my role as that of a companion and guide, encouraging people to find their own truths and to pursue their self-defined goals.
