My approach to helping others is warm, friendly, and professional. I have learned a fair amount about disorders and diagnoses in school/books/trainings, however, I think that the knowledge base I have developed over the years is often the least helpful tool I have in assisting others through their pain. My ability to be present for others in the moment is often what facilitates change. I am most interested in how individuals connect positively to the world around them and what it is that is blocking them from doing so at this time.
I work well with pre-teens,adolescents,and women of all ages. I specialize in working with eating disorders like; anorexia, binge-eating disorder, bulimia and compulsive overeating. Additionally, I like working with families and couples; "No one can challenge us like those we love!"

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
What I love about being a therapist is really fairly selfish on my part. It makes me feel good on a very basic level. It is my belief that one of the reasons we are here on this planet is to help each other. We all need to find our way of doing this and therapy is mine.
My Role as a Therapist
My role as a therapist is to partner with my clients to assist people out of their own dilemma's. Most of the "problems" we experience in life are merely challenges that encourage us to find a higher level of functioning and a better version of ourselves. You are the only expert in the room. I approach each new person I meet with a fair amount of humility and curiosity. We all have a story to tell and I am interested in each one I am priveleged to read.
