It may take several sessions for you to tell your story and for me to understand what you have done to try to solve your problems. Your perspectives and what you want out of counseling are very important. Together we will develop a specific and clear plan to address your concerns. What works for you will be specific to you. Subsequent sessions will address how you are responding and what is working for you. Homework assignments are often used to help you explore different solutions. Marriage counseling can help you and your partner talk through seemingly unsolvable problems in ways that you both feel heard and respected. You will learn antidotes for criticism and defensiveness. Love and trust can be regained.
