My Approach to Helping
Have you lost your way? Do you feel like everything and everyone is rushing past you? Do you feel sad? Do you struggle with anxiety? Do you feel all alone with no one to talk to? Do you wonder what you're doing with your life? If you answered yes to any of the above, and feel like you need assistance, please come see me. I will work hard to provide a safe, trusting environment for you to explore your concerns. Oftentimes, we just need a person to hear our inner thoughts. Through therapy, my hope is you'll come to understand why you feel and do the things you do. In the process, you'll work towards peace of mind.

More Info About My Practice
My hourly rate is $70/session. I am not a provider for any insurance company but, you can call the number listed on your insurance card and ask what the reimbursement is for "out of network" mental health benefits. Many insurance companies reimburse for out-of-network expenses. I will be happy to file your insurance for you.
I also reserve a couple of slots for sliding-scale clients.
Please feel free to call or email me for more information or if you have any questions.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

I understand about being hesitant going to counseling. Please know you will not be forced to do or reveal anything you don't want. Your counseling session is a place where you come to be heard. It is your session and it is my goal to help you feel understood. Your session is about you, not about me. It's about you having a place where you can learn and understand why you do the things you do, especially the things that cause you stress. Counseling should always be a safe place for you to express yourself without the fear of being judged. If you're on the fence, consider trying a couple of sessions. Find a counselor who meets your criteria. Please know, sometimes it takes trying a few different counselors before you find the one that works for you. It is essential, in order for counseling to work, to find a counselor you trust, you feel comfortable with, and who helps you to feel heard.

Had a Negative Therapy Experience?

I have had a few clients who have had negative experiences with other counselors. Please realize all counselors are not the same and the majority have a heart for helping their clients. If you've had a bad experience (and I can say I've had that happen to me too), please don't give up on counselors. Find one who honors you for who you are. Find one who doesn't place their values on you. Find one who you feel comfortable with and who you feel is listening to what you are saying. If a counselor makes you uncomfortable, please remember you are the boss. You are the one paying them and therefore you are the one who determines whether or not you will be seeing them again. Therapy can be life changing and life enhancing. If you've had a bad experience, please don't think all counselors are the same. Get recommendations from your friends, family, medical practitioners, online, etc. but don't please don't give up on counseling.
