Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) impacts more than 5% of adults, yet a large majority of these adults are currently undiagnosed. Furthermore, the rate of marital dysfunction for couples in which at least one adult has ADHD is close to 60%. This means that almost every couples therapist encounters the impact of ADHD in at least some of the couples they counsel, though neither the couple nor therapist may realize it.

Taught by a leader in this field, this seminar highlights the behaviors that identify which couples might be impacted by ADHD and provides an overview of the key concepts that therapists need to know to help these couples overcome their biggest issues. This Web Conference will pay special attention to the behavioral patterns specific to ADHD-impacted relationships and provide an overview of the healing progression and stages specific to couples impacted by ADHD.

This web conference is beginning instructional level and designed to help clinicians:

  1. Identify whether ADHD might be a factor in a couples' marital dysfunction;

  2. List the three stages of recovery that couples go through when ADHD is a factor in their relationship;

  3. Identify three behavioral patterns typical for couples impacted by ADHD and educate couples about how to change those patterns;

  4. Explain to couples what excellent treatment for ADHD looks like for an adult in a committed relationship and how to get it.
