You are the expert of your life and I have training and experience in helping solve problems, together we find the likely solutions. I use a body mind perspective to counseling... meaning that we can't just look to the mind or body alone but the combined unit. Many problems stem from or beliefs about the problem in combination with a need to care for our bodies. A healthy body and mind is one in which balance is achieved. Any extreme thoughts or extreme actions may contribute to mental or behavioral problems. Sometimes it takes an objective and kind professional to help you identify the areas of need. How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
In having grown up in a miltary family, I relate strongly with issues surrounding domestic violence and trauma. My philosophy is that you have to be well within yourself to be of any help to anyone else. I believe that this is my guiding mission in life. I have always been a caretaker, but have found that balance in giving is needed to assist anyone with a problem. I do not just make recommendations to others without living my own balanced lifestyle. I practice yoga, mindfulness, and meditation to assure my own wellness so that I have the reserves to participate in helping others renew there lives through counseling.
